If you’ve been using Facebook for years chances are you have posted on your Facebook timeline more times than you can remember! This can be annoying if one day you decide you want to delete all your Facebook posts from your timeline in bulk and realize there is no way to do it!
Facebook says that they do not provide a solution for this so unless you start deleting your Facebook posts on your timeline one by one you have no way to get rid of all your Facebook posts!
Anyway, that is the Facebook version of the truth! In reality, there are several apps to delete all your Facebook posts from your timeline in one go – unfortunately not all them work though!
I have tested many Chrome apps to delete all my Facebook posts from my timeline in bulk during the past three years but none of them actually worked. I decided to put the whole thing to rest and I thought I would never be able to delete all my Facebook posts in bulk. Instead, I even ended up deleting my Facebook profile altogether two years ago!
Cambridge Analytica
Looking back I sometimes regret it as a lot of my “old Facebook friends” have completely disappeared from my life now but maybe I am better off without them anyway.
In the end I decided to set up a new Facebook profile two years ago, but this time with a fake identity. I did this because I did not want anyone to manipulate me or what adverts I see on my Facebook profile. Also, I was worried my personal data on Facebook would end up in the wrong hands.
Lo and behold, just last month I saw on the news that Cambridge Analytica completely hacked into several million people’s personal Facebook data and manipulated actual parliamentary elections with these! I was very glad I had a fake Facebook profile at this point!
I also went to see Lloyd Figgins give a speech at his book launch event where he mentioned posting about your holidays in Facebook or Twitter can be a very bad idea!
Deleting My Facebook Posts
This prompted me to investigate deleting all my Facebook posts again as I was worried that maybe someway, somehow Facebook will hack into my profile and find out who really I am.
So I did a bit of researching and found an app called Social Book Post Manager on the Chrome Store. It is a free app which you can use to delete all your Facebook posts from your timeline in bulk.
Deleting All Your Facebook Posts
The Social Book Post Manager app has so far had 23,888 reviews, most of which are good. The app has a rating of 4.5 stars out of 5, which is pretty good, although there are some pitfalls which you need to look out for.
I hope this post will help you get through those and you will also manage to delete all your Facebook posts from your timeline in bulk.
First of all, you just need to install the app in the Chrome store and enable it in the Chrome extensions settings. Once you have installed the Facebook post deleter app, a small icon will appear in the top right corner of your chrome. It will look something like this icon:
If you see this icon go and log into your Facebook account and navigate to the “Activity Log”. You will find this in the top right corner of Facebook after click on the small downward pointing triangle.
The Social Book Post Manager App
When you landed on your Facebook activity log page click the Social Book Post Manager icon in Chrome. If you are not on your Facebook activity log page the drop down menu will not appear. Instead, it will be an error message directing you the activity log.
Anyhow, if you’ve done it correctly this is what you will see:
Here you will need to select the year and months you want to delete from your Facebook timeline. If you want to delete every year and every month from your Facebook timeline, then click “Select All” in the drop-down menu for all the years and months. In my experience it is better to un-tick the box “Uncheck if you don’t need to preview the result on screen” as it just add an unnecessary step to the process.
Next, click the speed drop-down menu and select the slowest speed, which is 0.25. To be 100% honest I don’t know what the different speeds mean, but when I tried at 4x, or any other speed it did not delete all my posts from my Facebook timeline. So do the slowest speed and then click “Delete”.
If you want to be sure it works, set your computer aside and don’t click anywhere at all as that can cause the program to stop working. Basically, if you want to delete all your Facebook post for several years, it is probably best to set the app up before dinner and then leave it to run the rounds. Hopefully by the time you’ve finished dinner it will have deleted all your Facebook posts from your timeline in bulk.
Hiding Likes And Invitations From Your Facebook Timeline
The next step is then to hide all the tags, invitations, likes and so on from your Facebook timeline. This you can achieve by doing everything the same way I have just explained but instead of clicking “Delete” click “Hide/Unhide”. Again, probably best to set the speed at the lowest possible to ensure it works correctly.
The more posts you have on your Facebook timeline the longer it will take the Social Book Post Manager app to delete everything, so just be patient. It worked like a treat for me and it removed 2.5 years of posts, likes and invitations from my Facebook profile.
Considering that this is a free app and that Facebook is completely unhelpful when it comes to deleting posts in bulk I think this an amazing app and more people should know about it. So if you liked this review and it helped you delete your Facebook posts please share this with your friends and help them safeguard their privacy and identity.
Warnings Before You Proceed
If you use this app you will delete all your Facebook posts from your timeline in bulk! This means you will not be able to get them back so only do this is you are sure you want to delete all your Facebook posts!
Also, I take no responsibility if anything goes wrong or you delete something on your Facebook timeline which you wanted to keep.
Lastly, I am not the developer of this program, please ask them directly if something is not working.
